While others have posted apps for this, I prefer to use tools built into the operating system.

Go to the battery app in the control panel and manually turn off your charger
When your battery hits 20% stop charging it
Wait until the battery has really stopped charging
At this point it will begin charging as fast as your charger will allow (you can adjust how fast it charges in the control panel)

Depending on your computer the battery will either fully charge in about 5-10 minutes or take up to 1 hour.

What is this crop mark on the DVD in the background of the Borat interview?

In a slightly blurred version of the beginning of the DVD of Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, there’s a crop mark in the background of the Borat interview. The image is below:

Can anyone explain what this is? It looks like some kind of rectangle (although the angle of the scene makes it hard to tell for sure), but what is it?

There is an old trick called “Focal Stack” which takes multiple frames from a single camera and makes them merge into a single image.

The picture on your DVD shows multiple images merged, with one frame from the far right of the group.
I believe this is done as the camera operator can see that the foreground subject (Borat) is speaking, and they want to capture a more well composed photo for the DVD.

If we take a look at this page we can see that there are around 16 frames from a Canon EOS 5D Mark II camera used to capture the scene.

We can also see that the camera is slightly tilted, so the bottom part of the image is on the left and the top part is on the right.
Note that the image below shows only the head of the subject, the rest of the image is just a background.

It appears that this image has been rotated 90 degrees and that the person has been cropped out of the image.

PHP set a static variable to static class variable in derived class

I’m using Phalcon and trying to write a chain of includes in a controller.
I have a static variable in Phalcon\Mvc\Dispatcher::$singletons that holds the singleton of my default “application” controller.
