i was not sure if you’d even be able to read this reply, i have been in here a couple times, but i am not sure why i would. now that i have replied to it, it is really hard to select one, so i’ll chose the 5th one.
I’ve used Pathlen a few times when I needed a path length.I doubt there is much better alternative so that it doesn’t have a major negative impact on the computer,especially as it can send the info to the desktop.
Pathlen does not work fine for my. It always tells me the path is too long. Whenever I use this software, I click stop first, then I click to pause when I click to exit. After I click, the process is “still running”. When I double click the EXE, it tells me it has crashed. It doesn’t respond.
I am the producer of this software. The bug you are describing is only a temporary side-effect of the way Microsoft’s implementation of Send To/Context Menu freezers are set up to work. In order to have the Windows Explorer shell window be non-freezed, PathLen will have to display a non-freezed shell window.
The way to fix this is to send out a bug report to Microsoft.
